BUSINESS ACHEIVEMENT AWARDS COMMITTEE
This committee is scheduled to meet in the Chamber Board Room or by ZOOM at 2:30 PM on the 2nd Thursday of August, September, October, November and December, the 2nd and 3rd Thursday in January and February, and every Thursday in March.
MANDATE: The Business Achievement Awards Committee organizes the annual awards gala presented in partnership with the Town of Cobourg, including sponsorships, nominations.
The Chair of the Committee reports to the Board of Directors at its monthly meetings.

GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE
This committee is scheduled to meet as required.
MANDATE: The key purpose of the Governance Committee is to assist the Board of Directors to ensure the NCCofC has an effective framework that enables the Board to be as effective as possible in carrying out its responsibilities.
The Governance Committee monitors the Board’s duties in compliance with governance best practices. They are responsible for reviewing current bylaws and policies and drafting new board policies as required.

MARKETING COMMITTEE
This committee is scheduled to meet virtually every month.
MANDATE: The Marketing Committee will review and update the Chamber’s Marketing Plan for approval by the Board of Directors as a part of the annual budgeting process. The committee will then implement the approved plan with the objective of increasing awareness and recognized value of the Chamber of Commerce.

MEMBERSHIP SERVICES COMMITTEE
This committee is scheduled to meet virtually every month.
MANDATE: The Membership Services Committee will focus on increasing and retaining Chamber Membership through the development, implementation and ongoing review of benefits and incentives including the Chamber of Commerce Group Insurance Plan, First Data Merchant Services, the Travel Affinity Program, Certificates of Origin, etc.

POLICY & GOVERNMENT RELATIONS COMMITTEE
This committee is scheduled to meet as required.
MANDATE: The Policy & Government Relations Committee monitors governmental issues impacting the business community. The committee organizes events to facilitate direct communication between the local business community and all levels of government, including municipal, provincial and federal “Meet the Candidates” events, “Budget Breakfasts”, “Council Round-Tables”, “Mayor’s Breakfasts”, etc.
The committee also monitors local and regional economic development, and develops Policy Resolutions for submission to the OCC and CCC as required.
It is essential that this committee adhere to the Chamber’s non-partisan policies.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
This committee is scheduled to meet virtually every month.
MANDATE: This committee provides educational and networking opportunities for the business community. Initiatives include monthly “Lunch & Learns”, “Meet and Greets” and other workshops and seminars that help businesses to thrive.
In addition, members of the committee will represent the NCCofC at the meetings and events of other business organizations and committees including the Cobourg Downtown Business Improvement Area and the Northumberland Manufacturer’s Association.

SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE
This committee is scheduled to meet virtually every month.
MANDATE: The Special Events Committee is the fund-raising arm of the Chamber, organizing revenue generating social and networking events. The existing roster of events includes the Golf Tournament (June) and Cobourg Waterfront Festival Pancake Breakfast (July).
There is an opportunity to introduce a new or updated event(s).
